We are all already familiar by now with some of the most common morning rituals that can help you have an amazing and productive day: early breakfast, exercising, planning ahead, and so on. But here are some of the more surprising morning rituals in the lives of successful people:

  1. Daily uniform: We all know the struggle – what should I wear today? Apparently, people like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg chose to stick to the basics every single day, which gives them more time for other more important issues. Zuckerberg even said in an article by Jason Abbruzzese from Mashable.com that “I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community.”
  2. Do something you enjoy: A pure sense of duty will not motivate you to get out of bed in the morning. Include in your morning ritual an activity you actually enjoy. For instance, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour plays tennis every single morning, and Margaret Thatcher listens to the morning radio program Farming Today.
  3. Don’t wait for the perfect circumstance: When you get an urgent call from your office in the morning and you find out that your deadline has been pushed and you are needed in the office immediately, take advantage of the ride to work and get as much done as possible. You don’t need to wait for the perfect circumstance and the perfect environment in order to do your job. Agatha Cristie, for example, never needed an actual desk to start typing, any surface would do. Always be prepared for unforeseen changes in your schedule!
