Summer is upon us and even if you’re still working during the week, summer weekends should be enjoyed at their full potential. Here are some ideas on how to not waste any weekends:

  1. Go seek authentic culinary experiences in your town or other towns nearby. There’s even a database that can help you with that. Just access Roadfood.com.
  2. Go camping with your car – there are many state campgrounds where you can literally park feet away from you tent. This saves you time and energy if you are not one of those people who enjoy hiking while carrying camping equipment on your back.
  3. Ride in a hot air balloon. Yes, you heard correctly, you can do that by accessing 800soaring.com.
  4. Make your own wine-infused frozen treat by picking your own berries and following this recipe: puree 5 cups fruit with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water, mix in 1 cup wine, pour into popsicle mold and freeze.
  5. Learn some new phrases in a foreign language – that’s how you get ready for your next trip abroad and also spend an enjoyable weekend. Check Busuu.com for help.
  6. Do some charity work: lend a hand with Habitat for Humanity or any other charity organization near you. We guarantee you will feel good by making other feel good.
  7. Host a cook-off – grab some friends and start a competition for who can make the best lasagna for instance. Both dinner and fun guaranteed.
  8. Host a backyard Olympics. And no, it doesn’t have to be like the real thing. How about beer pong instead of table tennis? That sounds good, doesn’t it?
  9. Transform your porch. Or your room if you don’t own a porch. Just add some cozy pillows, maybe a new plush rug, or whatever floats your boat.
  10. Go hiking – for those of you who actually enjoy being active, there’s always the possibility of hiking. Just check the AllTrails app – it will offer you more than 50,000 possible hiking routes.
